Ben Gordon Weekend: Schedule of Events

Here is the schedule for the fourth annual Ben Gordon Weekend:

Today
Youthful Praise 6-9 p.m., City Hall Plaza: The weekend kicks off with a celebration of young people, featuring a youth talent show, praise dancers, motivational speakers, youth choirs and a job fair.

Tomorrow

Youth Basketball Clinic, Hooperstown, 9-11:15 a.m.: Gordon and Rashamel Jones, a member of the 1999 Connecticut national championship team, lead the clinic. The cost is $50, with all proceeds going to the Ben Gordon New Life Foundation.

Ben's Bowling Bash & Celebrity Fundraiser, Homefield Bowl, 6-11 p.m.: Pro basketball players Elton Brand, Charlie Villanueva and Emeka Okafor, rappers Dwight "Heavy D" Myers and Eric B, and DJ's Ed Lover and Curt Flirt headline the event. Saturday

Ben Gordon Family Day, Hartley Park, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.: The cornerstone of the weekend has the theme "Faith, Family, Unity and Sports." Activities include rides, face-painting, giveaways, autograph sessions, youth basketball clinics, an all-star basketball game, Ben's Book Club and a panel on how young people can pursue a career in sports off the field.
