Mount Vernon Walk-a-Thon, co-sponsored by the City of Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon Neighbors United, the Neighbors That Care, Inc. and the Mount Vernon Educational Foundation Inc. The walk will begin and end at City Hall from 1 to 6 p.m. Planning sessions take place every Saturday at the First Methodist Church, 227 East Lincoln Ave, from 10 to 11 a.m. This event will raise funds for the entire community but pledges can be made specifically for the Mount Vernon Educational Foundation.
